Welcome to the weekend, my friends! What are you up to today? I’ll give you one guess where I am if you’re reading this on Saturday morning. I’m sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee. These days I look forward to my mornings more than ever before in my life.

If you’d told me 10 years ago that just sitting outside to drink my coffee each morning, without another distraction, would be the key to more peaceful mornings? I might not have believed you. (And here’s a thought, I’ve been setting my alarm just to make sure I don’t miss the sunrise. Is that as crazy as it sounds?)

As much as I love living in Ohio, it’s more than the change of scenery, it’s the change of pace and the choice to slow down. I’ve been carving out those moments in the morning before the day gets started and I love it so much.

I challenge you this week to find just a few moments to simply be still. And if you do this? I would love to hear about it.

ON THE BLOG this week: Berry Cheesecake Mousse Cups start with a fluffy whipped cheesecake mousse layered over a buttery crisp NILLA wafer crust. Each mousse cup is topped with fresh fruit to create a spring dessert that is sweet and fresh and completely perfect.

Our favorite Baked Oatmeal and all the many ways to customize it. We are big oatmeal fans and there are endless ways to enjoy it each day.

Have you tried a Dirty Banana? I have to admit that the name alone made me laugh. Hard. However, the milkshake-like cocktail proved irresistible. I came home from our trip and immediately had to remake this awesomeness to share with you. (And I included a delicious non-alcoholic version for kids and adults too!)

What I’m CRAVING: These garlicky Homemade Gyros by Foodie with Family. This perfectly grilled Rib Eye Steak by Mama Loves Food. And this Grilled Pineapple with Caramel Toffee Ice Cream by Rachel Cooks.

My FAVORITE THING this week is our back massager (link HERE). This is the best back, neck, and shoulder massager I have ever used. (Truthfully, I’ve never been impressed with them in the past.) This massager was Sean’s saving grace through our long road trip last year. And this week, when I woke up with a fierce crick in my neck and upper back, the massager actually worked it out. If you can find the massager in your local Costco, (that’s where we bought ours) it is usually less expensive than online.

What I’m READING: Loving My Actual Life: An Experiment in Relishing What's Right in Front of Me by Alexandra Kuykendall (link HERE) I have to be honest and admit that this one simply didn’t hold my attention the way I thought it might and I wound up scanning through much of it. However, there were some good takeaways that stuck with me. It’s basically a journal that was written each day of the author's year, with the intent to share it, and it just wasn’t really my thing.

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” - Lamentations 3:22-23

Wishing you a beautiful week full of little things that make you smile!
