Welcome to the weekend, my friends! Not to freak anyone out, but HOW are we halfway through summer already??? I think I blinked and time sped up. We have so much on the calendar for the next six weeks, it’s likely to feel like time is actually flying.

We have a whole lot of family headed our way next week, so I’ll be getting as much work as possible wrapped up this week so that I’ll be free to play next week! One advantage to coming from such a large family (there were 8 kids in my family) is that family get togethers are a ton of fun as an adult. Two of my brothers, their families, my mom, and a niece are on the way - making for a full house of 18 for a week. It’s going to be all kinds of crazy chaos and I can hardly wait.

ON THE BLOG this week: The BEST Peach Cobbler you will ever make or eat. I don’t claim many things are “the best” but this peach cobbler recipe? Everyone who tries it agrees. It’s pretty awesome.

What I’m CRAVING: This Chicken and Bacon Gnocchi over at Salt and & Lavender caught my eye earlier this week and it sounds amazing. And this Arugula Salad with Tomatoes, Corn, and Burrata by Simply Recipes is calling my name this summer. This salad needs to happen asap.

Last but not least, with little more than a handful of eggs, cream, sugar, and a lemon, you have what it takes to make this amazing Lemon Angel Pie. I’m planning to make a couple of these pies next week while my family is here and I’m looking forward to it!

My FAVORITE THING this week is this old fashioned bug zapper (link HERE) Oh my goodness, we tried so many things and go figure this zapper has helped more than anything else. It covers a ½ acre, so we have one in front of and behind the house. So far, the porches are far far less popular with the mosquitos and flies. I’m very happy with this relatively cheap option that actually works.

For all of you who emailed me last week - I am so sorry for the missing product links! If you were looking for the link for the Swiffer that I love (and the book I was reading too) the links are HERE now.

What I’m READING: Five Presidents: My Extraordinary Journey with Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, and Ford by Clint Hall (link HERE) I just downloaded this one last night, but knowing how great his other two books were - Mrs. Kennedy & Me and Five Days In November - I have no hesitation to recommend this one as well.

“Be careful about reading health books. Some fine day you'll die of a misprint.” - Markus Herz

Wishing you a beautiful week full of little things that make you smile!

Mary
