Welcome to the weekend, my friends! Our family starts arriving tonight and we’re pretty darn excited about it. We have so many fun plans for the week and I can hardly wait to introduce them to the Ohio that I’ve fallen in love with this year.

ON THE BLOG this week: Tangy, sweet, and lightly spiced Apple Butter is pretty awesome when you make it in the crock-pot. You can get it started in the morning and enjoy the fragrance of simmering apple butter all day long, or put it in the crockpot before you go to bed to wake up to the aroma of cinnamon and apples.

Garlic Lover’s Potato Salad is delicious served warm, cold, or room temperature - making this the perfect potluck or barbecue dish.

Need a five minute, no bake dessert that everyone will LOVE? These No Bake Chocolate Cereal Bars are somewhere between a cookie and a candy bar. They’re easier to make than a batch of cookies and are guaranteed to satisfy any chocolate candy bar cravings.

What I’m CRAVING: These Carrot Cake Muffins with Cream Cheese Filling by Show Me The Yummy need to happen SOON. Don’t they sound incredible? This Cheesy Southwest Beef and Potato Skillet by Aggie’s Kitchen is a weeknight dinner that my whole family loves. It’s definitely time to make it again.

My FAVORITE THING this week is this set of silk hair scrunchies (link HERE). Are you with me in my love of scrunchies or are you thinking that I’m nuts right now? A few years ago, I was so tired of losing a fist full of hair every time I pulled my hair back. I switched to Invisibobbles (link HERE) at the recommendation of my stylist - they’re a big improvement over the standard hair tie for sure. (And they’re AMAZING with wet hair!) But there is nothing better than a scrunchy for protecting your hair from breakage, and these scrunchies are not the same ones you might remember from childhood.

What I’m WATCHING: Mary Poppins Returns (link HERE) I watched this one with my younger boys this week and they both enjoyed it. To be honest, I probably had far too high hopes for this one as the original is one of my favorite children’s movies. It’s a great movie, separate from the original, but it will never be the same for me.

"If summer had one defining scent, it'd definitely be the smell of barbecue." - Katie Lee

Wishing you a beautiful week full of little things that make you smile!

Mary
