Welcome to the weekend, my friends! My sister is here this weekend and we’ve spent most of our time chatting, eating delicious food, and doing a little shopping. I took her to my favorite local shop, Cedar & Thread, for the holiday open house and it was simply lovely.

Did you catch the announcement that I’m partnering with Cedar & Thread for a book signing here in Granville? I’ll be in the store on Saturday, November 16 at 11am. I’m super excited about it and can’t wait to meet those of you who are local!

ON THE BLOG this week: Cheater Korean Beef is the kind of dish that both beginning and experienced cooks need in their life. The whole meal comes together in minutes and is full of fantastic flavors.

Coconut desserts are awesome all year long and I especially love including them in my holiday baking. This week, I gathered up my ultimate list of the best coconut dessert recipes I’ve made over the years.

Buttery, crisp, tender almond shortbread bars are topped with sliced almonds and an almond glaze. No one can resist these Almond Bars! These are the ultimate holiday treat for snacking, dessert tables, and for gifting.

What I’m CRAVING: This recipe for Seared Scallops with Garlic Basil Butter by Inspired Taste looks incredible. And those scallops would be fantastic with this Creamy Lemon Pasta. This may need to hit my meal plan sooner than later.

My FAVORITE THING this week is this Light Therapy Lamp (link HERE) I’ve lost count of how many people have recommended we buy a sun lamp since we moved to Ohio, both online readers and people we know personally who live in colder areas. I figured it was probably a silly thing, but I bought this one to try.

We’ve had some overcast days this fall and I’ve noticed I’m more prone to migraines when the weather turns less sunny. (Something that came as a surprise to me and was less than fun to discover.) At any rate, I’ve only had the lamp a week or two and I’ve turned it on for just 10-20 minutes each morning, but knock on wood, no more headaches this week, and I honestly think it’s improved my mood.

Is it a placebo effect? The real thing? Who knows? But I do know that for $30 and a few minute’s time each morning, I’ll take the positive benefits - even if they’re just in my imagination.

What I’m READING: The 19th Christmas by Maxine Paetro and James Patterson (link HERE) This is the newest book in the Women’s Murder Club and it’s a good one. I was thrilled to see this one pop up as available from my library holds list this week, because the series is a sure win. (and my reading list was due for a win!)

I’ve been reading these books for years (I’ve probably mentioned the last 2-3 in the series as they were released.) I don’t usually keep up with a series this long, but this is an easy one to walk away from and pick up again without forgetting all the characters. That said, I recommend starting at the beginning. Wishing you a beautiful week full of little things that make you smile!
