February 29, 2020

Welcome to the weekend, my friends! I did a double-take when I wrote today’s date. It’s a leap year Saturday, so if you’re a leapling and today happens to be your special day, shoot me a note with some kind of proof it’s your birthday and I’d love to buy you Starbucks today! (I have $100 set aside for this, so if you’re the only person who emails me before 6pm EST today, it’s all yours!) Here’s to an awesome February 29th - let’s all go do something fun!

ON THE BLOG this week: All the ingredients we love in classic Chinese Egg Rolls come together in this Egg Roll Skillet. It’s basically an egg roll in a bowl and you’re going to love it.

Do you make ice cream in the winter? I sure do. When citrus season is in full swing, I can’t resist mixing up a batch of this Sweet ‘n Tart Lemon Ice Cream.

Several years ago, I made Brussels sprouts and I LIKED them. I actually liked them so much; I ate a crazy amount of them right out of the pan. I shared these Caramelized Brussels Sprouts along with some fresh new photos this week and fell in love with them all over again.

What I’m CRAVING: This Creamy Lemon Raspberry Pie from Valerie’s Kitchen caught my eye this week. (Can you tell I’m on a lemon kick?) Doesn’t it look heavenly?

My FAVORITE THING this week is my optic scarf (link HERE) Basically a glass cleaning cloth that I clip onto my keychain, it works on literally everything. I’ve carried mine for almost a year now and use it pretty much every day.

I don’t know what kind of magic it is infused with, but the cloth works dry and without any cleansers to get glasses, laptops, phones, and any other glass item as clean as you can imagine. I hesitated to buy it for quite a while after a friend told me about it ($20 for a cloth?!) but I’m telling you that it has been worth every penny.

What I’m READING: The Summer Kitchen by Lisa Wingate (link HERE) This is the sequel to A Month of Summer (link HERE) and it is the second book in the Blue Sky Hill Series. It’s every bit as good as the first one and I’ve already downloaded the next two books in the series from the library.

This is the story of an unlikely friendship and it is certain to make you smile. The odds are good you’ll wipe away at least one tear along the way too. I’ve now read half a dozen books by Lisa Wingate and they’ve all been excellent. Thanks so much for all of the recommendations!

“A strong friendship doesn't need daily conversation, doesn't always need togetherness, as long as the relationship lives in the heart, true friends will never part.” - Auliq Ice

Wishing you a beautiful week full of little things that make you smile!
