Welcome to the weekend, my friends! I’ve been cooking up a storm this week and I am sooo excited about all the recipes I’ll be sharing over the coming month. It feels great to be back in the kitchen creating new dishes to share with you. (Plus, we’ve been eating fabulously as a result. It’s a win-win for sure.)

If you’re hanging out with me on Snapchat or Instagram, you’ve had a sneak peek at all of it. From the cheesiest of pasta skillets, to a spicy Asian stir-fry, to a keto-friendly cauliflower fried rice (that actually tasted fantastic!), and a classic chocolate cake from Grandma’s recipe box, it is all headed your way along with a whole lot more.

What I’m craving: Spicy Cajun Cheesesteak Sandwiches by Taste & Tell, Cheesy Chicken Enchilada Pasta by Reluctant Entertainer, and these Bacon and Egg Toast Cups by The Noshery. (I’m going to let my kids make those toast cups next week.)

Thanks to all of these awesome book recommendations (link HERE), my Kindle is filled with new books to read and my holds list for the library is maxed as well. I’m ready to dive into all of them!

My FAVORITE THING this week is my kindle paperwhite (link HERE). If you tried an e-reader years ago and decided it wasn’t for you, it might be time to try again. I swore for years that I’d never give up paper books, but once I tried the paperwhite? I’ve never looked back. I’m reading more than ever before in my life. The best feature of the paperwhite for me is the fact that it is backlit and it automatically adjusts for the lighting you’re in at the time. I can read in bright sunlight or in the dark. The kindle simply turns itself off when a page hasn’t been turned in several minutes, making it easy to fall asleep reading most nights.

What I’m reading: Ten Years Taken (link HERE) by Susannah B. Lewis. I had no idea what to expect with this book. It came with rave reviews, so I started it without even reading the blurb. I was hooked from the very first chapter. I absolutely inhaled this book and read it in a day. I love it when a book is so engrossing that I declare it a holiday, ignore work and just read. There’s no shame in my bookworm game.

What I’m watching: Darkest Hour (link HERE) Have you seen this movie? I expected it to be good, but it was even better than I expected it to be. Gary Oldman did a spectacular job portraying Winston Churchill. My older boys watched this with us (12 and 14 yrs old) and they were engrossed. Lots of questions and plenty of discussion followed this one.

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” - Winston Churchill

Wishing you a beautiful week full of little things that make you smile!
