Welcome to the weekend, my friends! Can you believe this is the 100th Little Things Newsletter? Every Saturday for almost two years, I’ve shared a peek into our life and I have loved every single email you sent back to me. So, as my way of saying thank you for reading my emails and being here with me every week, I’ll be sending a $10 Starbucks gift card to TEN lucky readers. Writing the newsletter each week is my version of an online coffee date with each of you and I love it!

All you have to do to enter your name for a gift card is reply to this email and say, “hi.” You can simply send a hello or shoot me a note telling me about a recipe you’ve tried or absolutely anything at all that you’d like to share. Happy 100th newsletter to all of you!

In most recent road trip news, my family spent a day exploring Kartchner Caverns and we all loved it. (I visited Carlsbad Caverns a couple times as a child and enjoyed it. Carlsbad is already on our travel list with the kids for next year.) I can’t believe we’ve lived in Arizona for so long and had no idea that Kartchner Caverns were this close to us. I highly recommend a day trip if you’re near Phoenix or Tucson. (Kartchner is less than 3 hours from Phoenix, just south of Tucson.) We stayed a couple of nights at the campground there and it was a terrific getaway destination.

What I’m CRAVING: These Jerusalem Meatballs are sooo good! My sister Jenny made them for me last year and I’ve been craving them ever since she posted them on her blog. (YES, my sister started a blog and I am thrilled about it. Now I’ll have all of her delicious recipes at my fingertips!) In case you’ve forgotten, Jenny is the person who first made this Challah Bread Pudding with Kahlua Cream Sauce for me and she gets all credit for introducing me to Israeli Couscous (if you still haven’t tried Israeli Couscous, you’re missing out). Let’s not forget the Orange Parsley Salad that is on my table all winter long and my beloved Cafe con Leche that she made for me after she visited Spain. I can hardly wait to see what she creates with her site, Juggling Thyme!

My FAVORITE THING this week is my Everyday Pan (link HERE). I can confirm that it truly is the everyday pan. I have probably used it at least 6 out of 7 days a week, if not 7 out of 7 for the past year. I use it more than any other pan, skillet, or pot in my kitchen and I just bought a spare pan for the camper, so that I won’t have to remember to drag mine back and forth any longer. It’s THAT useful.

What I’m READING: The Vegetarian Flavor Bible (link HERE) by Karen Page and Andrew Dornenburg. I’ve been an enormous fan of the original Flavor Bible ever since I started blogging and first heard of it. The Flavor Bible is not a cookbook, it’s a book of food pairings. For example, if you have an abundance of carrots in the house, you can look up “carrots” and see endless recommendations for flavors that work beautifully with carrots. The Vegetarian Flavor Bible expands on the original with more detailed vegetable, fruit, legume, nut, and herb pairings. While I am an omnivore for life, this book is fantastic.

“This is my invariable advice to people: Learn how to cook, try new recipes, learn from your mistakes, be fearless, and above all have fun.” - Julia Child

Wishing you a beautiful week full of little things that make you smile!
