Welcome to the weekend, my friends! We spent this past week in the Washington, D.C. area and enjoyed it so very much. We’re headed to Letchworth State Park today and once again, I’m looking forward to a new place to explore. Remember when I visited Letchworth with my friend Rebecca last year? I swore that I’d bring my family back to see it all.

We’ll camp at Letchworth State Park for a couple of nights before driving just a few more miles and introducing my boys to Rebecca’s boys. The kids are pretty excited about that and the adults plan to relax as much as possible. We’ll be camping (along with all the chickens) on Rebecca’s property for the coming week.

You can follow along on our trip (and send me all your travel tips too!) on Instagram. I’m sharing each week of our road trip on the blog as well, so you can read all about week three HERE.

On the blog this week, I shared my beloved Cafe con Leche (a.k.a. the best coffee drink of my life). If you have a coffee or latte lover in your life, you’ll want to check it out!

I also shared the Blueberry Waffles with Waffle Sauce that have become one of the breakfasts that I crave the most often. We’ve been pouring my grandmother’s waffle sauce over blueberry pancakes for years, but I just never thought to try making blueberry waffles. Oh my goodness, they are amazing. Bursting blueberries along with all those crispy waffle pockets to hold that sweet vanilla sauce? Yes, please!

What I’m CRAVING: This Blueberry Coconut Crisp by Rachel Cooks, Sticky Asian Chicken by Crunchy Creamy Sweet, Chocolate Chip Toffee Banana Bread by The Baker Mama, these Blueberry Clusters by Juggling Thyme, and this Cinnamon Sour Cream Coffee Cake by Shugary Sweets (It would appear that I’m on a serious blueberry kick these days. I can hardly wait to find the best blueberries ever in NY state this week!)

My FAVORITE THING this week is this very lightweight oversized square scarf (link HERE). I have used a similar scarf almost every driving day of our trip as a sun shield. I keep it on my lap and when the sun is particularly bright, I tuck it over my arms or shoulders. (Downside to being very fair skinned, I sunburn while driving if I’m not careful.) It’s also perfect as a light blanket when the a/c is on and you don’t want to reduce the cooling, but also don’t want the chill from it blowing directly on you. Best of all it takes up very little space. Mine rolls up quite small and I keep it in the tote bag that holds my laptop, kindle, and small purse.

What I’m READING: The Mountain Between Us (link HERE) by Charles Martin. This is another book by the same author I recommended a couple weeks ago. I suspect that it won’t be the last I read by him. This is another great read, not a fluffy summer beach book, but excellent nonetheless. I’m reading a few lighter books this week that I’ll be sharing with you next.

Wishing you a beautiful week full of little things that make you smile!
