Welcome to the weekend, my friends! I’m in Prescott, AZ this weekend, in an attempt to escape from the extreme heat advisory in Phoenix. Unfortunately, the crazy heat followed us up here, but I’m still grateful for a 20 degree temperature break from Phoenix.

If you’d told me 20 years ago that I’d pay this much attention to the weather, I’d have laughed. Now, I’m already dreaming of fall and winter. How are you holding up this summer? Enjoying it still? Or are you ready for fall already?

On the blog this week: Did you catch this post? I’m talking about Unstructured Play and how that speaks to my parenting heart. Plus, there are kid photos galore.

Southwest Chicken Salad with Spicy BBQ Ranch is a summer favorite. Pick up a rotisserie chicken and this meal comes together lightning fast without turning on the oven.

Have you tried a Strawberry Cobbler? This one is a filled with fresh strawberries that are tossed with sugar and cinnamon before being layered under a sweet biscuit crust to make this Strawberry Cobbler. If you’re a fan of classic strawberry shortcake, this berry-filled dessert is going to thrill you.

What I’m CRAVING: Cream Cheese Lemonade Blackberry Crepes by Great Grub Delicious Treats, Berry Topped Brownie Cheesecake Bites by Art and the Kitchen, and these Strawberry Cheesecake Shortcake Bars by The Seaside Baker are everything my berry loving self craves right now.

My FAVORITE THING this week is this pair of sandals (link HERE). Have you tried FitFlops? While they were admittedly less than the cutest shoes when they first came out a few years ago, I’ve been wearing this new style of flip all summer and they are surprisingly comfortable - and CUTE! I just ordered a couple new pairs when I caught them on sale for $9 and $15 this week. (The first pair I bought was $40 and absolutely worth it.)

What I’m READING: Superfood Bowls by Lindsay Cotter and The Weeknight Mediterranean Kitchen by Samantha Ferraro (links HERE) a super fun perk to knowing so many food bloggers is getting a sneak peek at their new cookbooks! Both of these cookbooks are gorgeous and I’ve already covered them in post-it bookmarks for recipes I want to try.

Wishing you a beautiful week full of little things that make you smile!
