Welcome to the weekend, my friends! We’ve declared today a family day and I’m pretty happy about that. I’ve been baking Irish Raisin Soda Bread on repeat this week (recipe will be on the blog next week!) and breakfast today looks a lot like a warm buttered slice of raisin bread with a cup of coffee. I’m looking forward to spending a lot of time on the couch today, watching a movie, and maybe playing some board games too.

ON THE BLOG this week: Did you catch the Favorite Things Giveaway? I shared the birthday fun by giving away some of my favorite things along with a gift card for the lucky winner! (If you haven’t entered yet, there’s still time. All you have to do is leave a comment HERE telling me what some of your favorite things are.

This Blueberry Ice Cream with Dark Chocolate Chunks has been my weakness for the past couple years every time we eat at my favorite restaurant. I haven’t been keeping it a secret from you, but up until now I haven’t had the recipe. But now, it’s on the blog and I’ve been making this ice cream every chance I get. You’re going to love it.

What I’m CRAVING: I’m back home and craving pasta like mad, so this Cajun Shrimp Fettuccine by Jo Cooks needs to happen sooner than later.

My FAVORITE THING this week is this candle. (link HERE) I’ve mentioned before that I’m not much of a candle person, but this candle? It’s just lovely and it’s mild enough it doesn’t bother me a bit even when I burn it on my desk for hours. Sometimes, I just take the lid off for a hint of the fragrance.

What I’m WATCHING: Rampage (link HERE). I watched this one on the plane on the flight home from London. Cheesy and predictable, but Dwayne Johnson’s movies are always fun.

Sean started READING Life After Google by George Gilder (link HERE) while we were on vacation. He shared a few things with me as he read them and it’s fascinating to hear some of the predictions.

This reviewer’s quote was enough to draw me in: “For decades, George Gilder has been the undisputed oracle of technology’s future. Are giant companies like Google, Amazon, and Facebook the unstoppable monopolistic juggernauts that they seem, or are they dysfunctional giants about to be toppled by tech-savvy, entrepreneurial college dropouts?” Nick Tredennick, Ph.D., Chief Scientist, QuickSilver Technology

“It's a terrible thing, I think, in life to wait until you're ready. I have this feeling now that actually no one is ever ready to do anything. There is almost no such thing as ready. There is only now. And you may as well do it now. Generally speaking, now is as good a time as any.” ― Hugh Laurie

Wishing you a beautiful week full of little things that make you smile!
