Welcome to the weekend, my friends! It’s been a lovely week of everyday normal activities for us. School, work, play, even cooking dinner a few times (imagine that!), sometimes the daily routine is just what we need most.

Did you catch this story that went viral online a couple weeks ago? 77 years old, 55 years of marriage, and he adores her still. “She’s my cup of tea. And it’s sweet too.” Oh, how my heart loves this love story. He walks six miles every single day -- no matter the weather -- to visit his wife in the hospital. And listening to him talk about her can’t help but make you grin.

ON THE BLOG this week: Have you ever wanted to spend a day in a castle? We visited Dunrobin Castle in Scotland and it was unforgettable. I shared more about our visit to the castle on the blog along with a video that still makes me laugh. “In fact, I’m always right, you know. Where have you ever heard that before?” ← said the best tour guide ever.

We also spent A Day in Belfast, Ireland and it wound up being absolutely delicious, surprisingly educational, and a whole lot of fun too.

What I’m CRAVING: Cheese, cheese, and more cheese! I made these DIY Cheese Plates while we were cruising a couple weeks ago and then I came home and we made a few more cheese plates. Check back on the blog the first week of October for more cheese inspiration and a cheesy giveaway! (Spoiler alert - October is National Cheese Month and I’m pretty excited about that.)

My oldest son strongly dislikes broccoli and yet he LOVES broccoli cheese soup when we’re in a restaurant, so I have this Broccoli Cheddar Cheese Chowder by The View from Great Island on my list to try this month. Also, I need this Georgian Cheese Bread by Sweet C’s Designs in my life.

My FAVORITE THING this week is this fashion tape (link HERE). How have I never tried this before?? First of all, I am no fashionista. However, this stuff is priceless. It works about a thousand times better than a safety pin to make sure clothing stays in place without damaging the shirt. (You can literally tape a shirt closed and it stays that way or you can tape a shirt directly to your skin and nothing will gape.)

What I’m LISTENING to: In The Altogether by The Sea The Sea (link HERE). There are only six songs on this album and I’m still playing it on repeat. I love their music so much.

What I’m READING: Unwritten by Charles Martin (link HERE). I’m on a Charles Martin reading binge and I’m 100% okay with that. I’m having trouble putting this one down. I may just settle in and read tomorrow afternoon away. These books never fail to make me smile, sometimes make me cry, and they always leave me thinking about the story after the final page has turned.

“The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever.” - Jacques Yves Cousteau

Wishing you a beautiful week full of little things that make you smile!

Mary
